Description:
Add+VantageMR® (AVMR), Course 1 includes dynamic assessments, organizational, and teaching tools in number words and numerals, structuring numbers, and addition and subtraction strategies. Course 1 is for kindergarten through elementary classroom, special education teachers, and interventionists who work with children in K – 8.
About the leader:
Rachel Rogers, a course and implementation specialist at the U.S. Math Recovery Council, will lead this training. Prior to joining the Math Recovery team, Rogers taught middle school math and later served as a K-5 mathematics coach. Rachel shares her passion and enthusiasm for Math Recovery in all aspects of her work. Rachel majored in language arts and earned her master’s degree in early childhood, yet she found her first teaching position in an 8th grade classroom. She developed a passion for mathematics that continued to guide her career. After teaching in the classroom, Rogers served her district as a K-5 math coach and is now sharing exemplary teaching and learning with the US Math Recovery Council.

This training is only available to educators from districts in Sourcewell's five-county service area. Participants must attend all four sessions to complete the course.
