Learning objectives:

  • Identify the effects of racialized trauma in all people (BIPOC as well as white bodies).

  • Gain a deeper understanding of how historic, familial, and personal experiences impact and inhabit the heart, body, and mind.

  • Explore pathways for healing emotionally and physically.

Description:

This course focuses on recognizing and healing racialized trauma by using Resmaa Menakem’s text, “My Grandmother’s Hands”. Explore the intersections of trauma, race, racism, history, and the body. The text and course focus on awareness as well as learning the pathways to mending our hearts and bodies.

About the leader:

Sourcewell consultants Rachel Logan and Lisa Worden will lead this training. Logan is an equity and inclusion consultant for Sourcewell. Worden is an education consultant for Sourcewell specializing in Social and Emotional Learning and Trauma-Informed Care. Both Rachel and Lisa are Nationally Trained SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) Leaders.
