The same 4-hour seminar is being held in the morning and afternoon. Participants only need to select and attend one session.

Learning objectives:

  • Recognize the symptoms of stress and how police stress differs significantly from other jobs.

  • Discuss why officers are at greater risk for alcohol abuse, divorce, isolation, depression, and suicide.

  • Learn warning signs of distress and preventative programs to reduce and monitor it.

Description:

Learn how to remove classic frustrations encountered by all law enforcement officers and the impact of rewarded cynicism. Officers, sergeants, and those who assist them will reflect upon the traumas and triumphs associated with modern law enforcement, and how these influence the pivotal balance between professional and personal relationships.

About the leader:

Kent Williams is the owner of Breach Point Consulting and has been involved in law enforcement as a police officer for over 32 years. He recently retired as Chief of Police for a Chicago area police department.
