Introduction to Paraprofessional Training: Units 1 & 2

This course is designed to equip new paraprofessionals with essential skills and knowledge for effective work in educational settings. Participants will explore foundational topics, including an Introduction to Special Education, which covers 13 disability categories, and the impact of implicit bias in the classroom. Participants will explore foundational topics, including an Introduction to Child Development, which covers physical and cognitive development as well as developmental delays. The course also emphasizes that behavior is a form of communication and what to expect. Additionally, learners will gain insights into de-escalation, dysregulation, and how to support students. Keys to Early Writing

This practical course provides the background knowledge needed to teach all the components of beginning writing instruction. The instructional practices are developmentally appropriate for children in grades pre-K-3. Mathematics: Introduction to 2022 MN Math Standards

Here is your chance to experience an overview of the past three years in the MDE suggested implementation timeline for our 2022 Minnesota math standards.  Join us for a deeper dive into changes from the 2007 standards and what this looks like in your schools. We will choose one or two anchor standards and break the corresponding benchmarks per grade level.


This one-day workshop builds on the Mathematics: 2022 MN Math Standards Transition Year 1 to Year 2 workshop offered on June 26, 2026.


MDE's suggested implementation timeline says next school year is a transition year.  School year 2027-28 is full implementation with MCA-IV to be taken spring of 2028.

Paraeducator Online Training FY 25.26

Join this on-demand training opportunity to access a wide variety of online courses designed to provide paraprofessionals the targeted training needed to succeed as a Title I paraprofessional, including strategies that can be applied immediately.


The training includes access to over 150 courses and can be used for professional development or certification. Access to the content will be available for one year from your registration date. If you are using this training for certification, you must complete PARA Assessment 1 and PARA Assessment 2. The assessments must be proctored. Please be aware that this is an on-demand training and any preparations for the assessments are up to the individual to complete online.


Sourcewell will not be hosting proctoring sessions at this time, please see this FAQ document for more information.
