Local Government Advisory Council

The Local Government Advisory Council oversees Sourcewell’s funding programs in Region 5, including Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd, Wadena Counties, and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. It amplifies diverse voices in regional decision-making, ensuring local government perspectives shape Sourcewell’s investments. Serving as ambassadors, members foster shared responsibility and continuous improvement to drive meaningful change. The council reviews funding applications, recommends projects that drive growth and innovation, and provides expertise and feedback to ensure programs align with Sourcewell’s mission and regional priorities

Members of the Local Government Advisory Council

Advisory council members serve four-year terms and represent a range of government roles. The council includes:

Five members that represent each county within Region 5: Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd, and Wadena
Three members representing cities within Region 5
Two members representing townships within Region 5
Three members of the Sourcewell Board of Directors
One at-large member representing local government from a state or regional perspective
One member of the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe
