The Nonprofit Advisory Council guides Sourcewell’s funding programs in Region 5, which includes Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd, Wadena Counties, and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe. This council elevates the voices of nonprofit leaders, ensuring community needs and insights inform funding decisions and strategic direction. Members provide expert guidance, review applications, recommend impactful projects, and help align Sourcewell’s programs with its mission to empower community success across the region.

Members of the Nonprofit Advisory Council

Advisory council members serve four-year terms and represent a diverse mix of 501(c)(3) nonprofit programs, services, and experience levels. The council will include:

Members from Sourcewell member organizations committed to supporting the best interests of Region 5
One nonprofit representative based in each of the five counties: Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd, and Wadena
At least one organization actively providing services to the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe
Members in paid leadership roles (e.g., Executive Director or Program Director); if no paid staff exist, a board member may serve
At least one member with 0–5 years of nonprofit experience
At least one member with 6–10 years of nonprofit experience
At least one member with 10 or more years of nonprofit experience
1–3 members of the Sourcewell Board of Directors
A balanced mix of organizations from across the region to ensure no area is overrepresented
