Develop structures in the classroom around rules and procedures, engagement, and social-emotional learning strategies.
Participate in relevant professional development.
Collaborate with other regional new teachers.

Description:

The New Teacher Academy is designed to increase confidence and capacity in novice educators by combining relevant training with growth-focused coaching support. Support throughout the year includes five full-day trainings at Sourcewell, four individual in-classroom coaching sessions, Catalyst Whole Group Leadership, and Catalyst Live.

About the leader:

Sourcewell education consultants Julie Benson and Jennifer McLachlan will lead this academy.

Benson and McLachlan have over 40 years of teaching experience combined. They have perspective from elementary and secondary lenses from classroom experience and coaching teachers around the region.
