Agenda:

This training will be offered twice. When registering, select which session date you would like to attend. You only need to attend one day.

Day 1: This tabletop session will focus on Cass, Crow Wing, and Morrison counties, but all schools and public safety entities are welcome.

Day 2: This tabletop session will focus on Todd and Wadena counties, but all schools and public safety entities are welcome.

Description:

This tabletop exercise prepares participants to respond effectively to an active violence incident and the subsequent reunification process. Through realistic scenarios and guided discussions, attendees will examine the roles, responsibilities, and coordination among various agencies. Emphasis will be placed on communication, decision-making, and maintaining safety throughout both phases. The exercise promotes collaboration and identifies areas for improvement in emergency response and reunification protocols.

About the leader:

Captain Wayne Freeman will lead this training.

Cpt. Freeman has been in law enforcement for 32 years, is a captain with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, supervises the State Active Shooter Training Program, and is the South Carolina Active Shooter and CCTA Training Coordinator. He has trained over 200,000 students in active shooter response and is the author of the South Carolina Active Shooter Training Manual.
