Description:

This short course looks at how first responders interact with special education students during times of crisis, including tactical operations, evacuation, and other aspects of first responder activities. 

Topics include:

-The fourteen categories of disabilities

-Building relationships with Student Support Teams

-Basic reunification for unique learners

-Planning drills, with modifications or adjustments

About the leader:

Captain Wayne Freeman will lead this training.

Cpt. Freeman has been in law enforcement for 32 years, is a captain with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, supervises the State Active Shooter Training Program, and is the South Carolina Active Shooter and CCTA Training Coordinator. He has trained over 200,000 students in active shooter response and is the author of the South Carolina Active Shooter Training Manual.
