K-5 educators will continue the work of implementing the 2021 Minnesota Social Studies Standards.

Prerequisites: Must have attended on of the K-5 Social Studies Standards Workshop held in July or November.

Description:
This is a follow-up to the Social Studies Workshops held earlier in the year.
This collaborative session is designed for K-5 educators to continue the work of implementing the 2021 Minnesota Social Studies Standards. Teachers will work in small groups to:
- Identify and curate primary and secondary sources aligned to bundled benchmarks.
- Use generative AI tools to develop robust, standards-aligned unit plans.
- Build a scope and sequence for the year.
This is a working session - educators will leave with tangible products and a clear path forward.
About the leader:
Sourcewell senior education consultant Jen McLachlan will lead this training.
Jen provides support for several programs such as ElevatePD, New Teacher Academy, and the Social Studies Network. Drawing on her experience in middle-level education, she is dedicated to fostering professional development and enhancing collaboration among educators.
