Publicity and recognition guidelines
Maximize the impact of your program, initiative, or project through strategic communications and public relations! To support your success, here are some tips on how to boost your public relations opportunity and include Sourcewell in your communications.
If you have any questions about communicating about your funding award from Sourcewell, please contact brand manager Alie McInerney.
Publicly identifying your funding sources helps promote transparency, builds credibility as a fundable organization, strengthens partnerships, and can even lead to additional financial support from other funders. If you want to mention Sourcewell in your communications, feel free to pull from the approved language below.
- In any funding announcements, please use the following: “[Project/event] is supported (in part) by funding from Sourcewell, a public government agency charged with supporting successful outcomes for schools and communities in central Minnesota.”
- If more detail is warranted, please use: “[Project/event] is supported (in part) by funding from Sourcewell, a local unit of government and the regional service cooperative for Cass, Crow Wing, Morrison, Todd, and Wadena counties. As a service cooperative, Sourcewell is a self-funded public government agency charged by Minnesota state statue to partner with education, government, and nonprofits to boost student and community success."
*When communicating about Sourcewell funding, please do not use the word “grant.” There are some nuances to the type of funding we provide, which differs from other types of grant funding.
Access Sourcewell’s logos below. If possible, it is preferred that you use the full color logo. Use the black and white logo or reverse logo only when it’s required for your design. The minimum size for Sourcewell’s logo is 0.28” for print and 30px for digital. The Sourcewell logo should not be altered in any way, placed on a complex background, or be unnecessarily crowded.
If linking to Sourcewell’s website, please ensure you’re linking to mn.sourcewell.org (not sourcewell-mn,gov, our national-facing cooperative purchasing website).
