Description:
AVID elective teacher training supports middle and high school educators serving as AVID elective teachers. This offering is for first year and veteran AVID elective teachers. Teachers will be immersed in AVID elective resources and WICOR strategies. We will be spending time with the revised AVID weeks at a glance (WAGS), AVID elective standards, Focused Notes, Collaboration, and Tutorials.
About the leader:
Shannon Bailey, an AVID Midwest area program manager, will lead this training.
Bailey brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role supporting AVID schools and districts in Minnesota and Iowa. She taught in the Hopkins Public School District in Minnesota for twenty years. Before transitioning to work directly with the AVID Center nine years ago, she was an AVID elective teacher and site coordinator and led the district’s AVID secondary and elementary program implementation as their AVID district director. Shannon is also an AVID staff developer for both the AVID district director leadership and the AVID elective teacher training series.
