Description:
Based on Dr. Marzano’s 50 years of education research, The New Art and Science of Teaching is an instructional framework that comprehensively addresses the most alterable effect on student achievement—quality instruction. Explore instructional strategies carefully designed to maximize student engagement and ensure high levels of learning for all. Learn the instructional framework components, which include: 3 categories, 10 design questions, and 43 elements. Experience many of the 43 elements through hundreds of modeled instructional strategies. Use reflective guides as a means of enhancing instructional practices.
About the leader:
Dr. Phil Warrick will lead this training.
Philip B. Warrick, EdD, is an author and presenter and has worked globally in the areas of school leadership, instruction, collaborative practices, and grading. He spent the first 25 years of his education career as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and superintendent and has experience leading schools in the states of Nebraska and Texas. He was named 1998 Nebraska Outstanding New Principal of the Year and was the 2005 Nebraska State High School Principal of the Year. In 2003, he was one of the initial participants to attend the Nebraska Educational Leadership Institute, conducted by the Gallup Corporation at Gallup University in Omaha. In 2008, Phil was hired as the campus principal at Round Rock High School in Round Rock, Texas. In 2010, he was invited to be an inaugural participant in the Texas Principals’ Visioning Institute, where he collaborated with other principals from the state of Texas to develop a vision for effective practices in Texas schools. In 2011, Phil joined the Solution Tree–Marzano Resources team and works as an author and global presenter in the areas of high reliability school leadership, instruction and instructional coaching, assessment, grading, and collaborative teaming. He earned a bachelor's degree from Chadron State College in Chadron, Nebraska, and earned his master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
