Date: June 20, 2024

Time:

8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Location:

Sourcewell

Cost:

Free

Prerequisites: None

CEUs: Teacher CEU; Administrator CEU

Learning objectives:

  • Learn how to get started journaling with their students.

  • Develop ideas for using journals to build a sense of place on their school grounds.

  • Discover how to use journals for investigations, storytelling, visual or mathematical thinking, and more.

Description:

Nature journaling helps capture student observations and promotes documentation of students' curiosity in the natural world. Whether you are outdoors studying science, language arts, math, art, or a combination of these subjects, nature journals provide a great learning platform for documenting students' experience using words, pictures and numbers.

About the leader:

Dr. David Grack, Director of Education for the Jeffers Foundation, will lead this training. Past and present appointments include professorships, secondary, and elementary teaching. Dr. Grack is eager to seek realizable, authentic experiences for learning to happen outdoors for pre K-12 teachers and students.
